10/28 Neighbor to Neighbor helps build a community garden
Volunteers originally scheduled to help with a Neighbor to Neighbor roofing project, worked on a local community garden rehab project one rainy Saturday this fall when the roofing job hit a snag. The volunteers were troopers and made an incredible difference in just a few hours helping to create a community garden for an Ithaca Northside neighborhood.
10/21 The End of an Era: We Lost Our Sheds
Saying goodbye to our 10 storage sheds on Pinckney Road lovingly donated by CSP Management for the past 3 years was sad. We found temporary shelter for the items that are still waiting to serve Tompkins County families but its only a temporary fix. We need to find a new storage space. If you have a space we could use, let us know!
10/7 Back in Business
Hooray!! We got a "new to us" truck and so we are back in business with our furniture redistribution program. For several months, it was touch-and-go each week whether our furniture runs would happen due to our ever-failing, tired old truck. With an incredible emergency funding grant from the Triad Foundation, we were able to purchase a bright yellow used truck and resume our regular Saturday runs. Thank you Triad and thank you volunteers and drivers who worked through this difficult period with us! And thank you to our old, tired truck. You held on as long as you could. If you haven't volunteered in a while due to the truck issue, WE ARE BACK!! Sign up for a run today!
