Donating Furniture Love Knows No Bounds is currently accepting ONLY the following items for donation: beds, dressers, dining sets, living room chairs, couches, and tables. Items must be in good-to-excellent condition. If you live in Tompkins County and have one or more of these items to donate, you have two choices for offering your items: 1. You can contact our Donation Coordinator, Anita at email@example.com to offer donations directly and ask any questions you may have about the program. 2. You may use our automated process by clicking the green "Continue" button, near the bottom of this page and a form box will appear for you to enter your information. Before clicking on the button, however, please scroll through the complete details of what we can and cannot accept. Reviewing our donations policy will save time and prevent stress for everyone involved. Once you understand what we are looking for, please click on the Continue button and go forward with the process.
NOTE: It is sometimes possible for one of our volunteers to meet donors at our storage space if the donor is able to transport the items. If you have the capacity to transport the items you are offering, we invite you to talk with Anita to make arrangements.
Receiving Furniture If you live in Tompkins County and are in need of beds, dressers, dining sets, living room chairs, couches, and/or tables, we may be able to help. You are eligible for this program if you are receiving support from one of the partner organizations listed below, or if you or someone in your family attends a Tompkins County school, community center, house of worship, or another certified social service organization located in Tompkins County.
Please be advised that we are currently only able to make one delivery run a week, between 1 and 5 pm on Saturdays. We serve people in the order in which we receive requests, for the most part. Generally, we can deliver donations to 3 - 6 recipients per week. Our ability to fulfill requests is limited by whether or not we have the item(s) you need on hand, and where you are on our wait list. The wait can be up to several months, at times. We know it is frustrating to wait, and we are working on ways to decrease wait time.
We accept referrals from these community partners, but will consider other referrals on a case-by-case basis: The Advocacy Center of Tompkins County Catholic Charities of Tompkins County Child Development Council Family and Children's Service of Ithaca Ithaca Housing Authority The Learning Web OAR (Opportunities, Alternatives, and Resources) Office of the Aging The Rescue Mission Tompkins Community Action Tompkins County Department of Social Services Tompkins County Mental Health Center and Affiliated Programs
